Presume for a moment that a certain good looking Texan who sounds like Sam Elliott wants to conduct a littleb experiment and in said experiment he needs to simply disable JavaScript in his Firefox ESR browser. Said Texan is familiar with the add-on No-Script but that really has more options than he needs/wants for the experiment. He just wants a blanket disabling of JavaScript. What add-on would you use?

Most people don't believe this because I am so chatty online but if we were to meet in meatspace I'd probably just sit and stare at you and let you do the talking. #introvert

How much do I hate the phone? All of 2017 I used about 40 minutes of talk time. I nearly hit my data cap every month. #introvert

I hate talking on the phone. I'd rather go to the dentist than talk on the phone. My having a mobile phone is an idiotic expense. But I have this one acquaintance who insists on phone calls rather than text or email. He says he has a business proposition for me. I'd like to know the proposition but I seriously don't want the 3 hour phone call to hear it. #introvert

@bdsa in Dallas commuters get up to speed and then stop out of the blue. Houston is similar except all the stopping is on the onramps. In Lubbock everyone drives 100 mph, highway or city street. In Midland they drive close to the speed limit but whether they are on a street or not is the question.

@bdsa Austin is bad but at least it is more or less orderly. Out here in the west you take your life in your hands being anywhere near another car.

@lohang I thought about going back to gnusocial until I used it this past weekend and remembered a bunch of things. Being new to Mastodon, I don't know if it is any better but it's bound to be.

@lohang I hate to say it becuase I used to love it so much but GNUSocial is a mess.

My Boss is a voracious purchaser of goods from online sources. For the second time in just a couple of months his card is being used by someone other than him, this time to the tune of $800 so far. This is another of the things in my arsenal of things questioning the value of the internet beyond being a good place to get audiobooks.

@skellat @lnxw48a1 It doesn't take a whole lot of brain power to see that this Hiveway thing is just a fancy scam but I have seen some crazy blockchain stuff out there. One group wants to create a Wikipedia-like wiki on the chain. When I downloaded wikipedia it cam up to 54GB! We can't be downloading that much info all the time. It just doesn't make sense to me. But Like I said I don't know very much about it.
