RMS' "Pleasure" card. He describes it as a replacement for a business card. Fucking creepy.

"Rick Falkvinge joins me in demanding an end to the censorship of "child pornography", and points out that if in the US you observe the rape of a child, making a video or photo to use as evidence would subject you to a greater penalty than the rapist. "
Supply and demand folks.

"The nominee is quoted as saying that if the choice of a sexual partner were protected by the Constitution, 'prostitution, adultery, necrophilia, bestiality, possession of child pornography, and even incest and pedophilia' also would be. He is probably mistaken, legally--but that is unfortunate. All of these acts should be legal as long as no one is coerced. They are illegal only because of prejudice and narrowmindedness." - Richard Stallman

@GLove I'd prefer not to see the world like that so while I might keep comment in your mind, I'll be actively looking for the opposite

@meowski @agnieszka @nosleep all very good points I would say. Especially when it comes to secure communication and audit trails

Did my first ever db migration today. It was nice :) makes me more confident to do so when the time comes to set up my wp install in docker so minimize vps expenses (it's on a separate vps rn)

@nosleep that's certainly possible. I sort of felt the same way when I was younger, and when I was only doing the likes of minimum wage jobs.
Email was extremely secondary to me at the time and the only thing it had been used for was to arrange job interviews, rcv marketing materials, and sign up for random accounts (I'm staunchly against single sign on using social media accounts)

@nosleep my reason for using email for business correspondence, it allows for separated threads of conversation to be more accessible. It's easier to search for the email that had the information re: my onboarding process vs trying to find the seventeen messages that were sporadically sent x days ago where in between now and then, seven other threads were had
As well it's a lot harder to keep offline backup of all this stuff with the "cloud" being Central to a lot of these IM svcs

@ElfLord some of my favourite lyricists consist of Logic, Joyner Lucas, and Tech N9ne, if you're curious. How about you?

@nosleep I can see where you're coming from, and it's certainly not a good way to "chat" with people.
It does come from a time where people were more formal in the first place with each other and a time where instant messaging wasn't as much of a possibility as today, especially with the ubiquity of smartphones.
I use email a lot, personally, for keeping in contact with friends I know over the internet who aren't as fond of IM. And yes, as well in more formal contexts, hbu?
