    On July 4th Gab is coming on to the Fediverse by switching over to Mastodon on their servers.

    This means that you can shut the door on them today by preemptively have them fully suspended from your instances. So your users do not have risk getting harassed by any of their users, and they from the start be blocked off from major portions of the Fediverse.

    See this steam coming out of my head... I just read a blog post saying Alan Garner ripped off Tolkein when he wrote Weirdstone and I am like "how?"

    It may have come out after but Weirdstone was written around the same time as LotR... The similarities are actually because both of them were mining the same myths and landscape for inspiration.

    @Wsteria There was another short fic that was hilarious but I can't find it.

    It involved the period when Maedhros was Melkor's prisoner and chained to Thangorodrim for 30 years and Sauron would pop out daily to give him lessons in Evil Esperanto (fan nickname for the Black Speech) because he wanted to explain it to someone who would appreciate his work.

    I would call it a crack fic except that is totally something Sauron would do.
