I’m being co-opted into our Data Engineering team, so I guess I’m learning Scala. Should be fun, though: machine learning on many-billion item databases.

@phillipprado That kind of requires end-to-end knowledge, though, wouldn't it? It seems common for AI to have stuff pushed into it than pulling data from other sources.

@phillipprado It’s neutral. My company uses UI to help people find better, cheaper healthcare. Others use it to make more efficient advertising.

I’m a huge FOSS proponent but I don’t know that it would change the goodness equation. You could feed bad data into open AI to reach terrible conclusions and vice versa.

@phillipprado Interact. Say stuff to “popular” people that they’re likely to boost. Follow interesting people and they’ll often follow back. Same basic ideas as birdsite, except no one’s so popular here that they don’t have time to talk to us peasants.

I am the calmest person IRL, but next mofo on a bike on the sidewalk who blows through a red light and almost clips me while I’m in a pedestrian crosswalk is getting put in the dirt.

If you’re a grown-ass adult traveling at more than leisurely speeds, get off the damn sidewalk. The street speed limits here are only 25mph (40kph); it’s not like your alternative is the autobahn.
