Anyway playing that NPC was a blast. An elven alchemist named Elstuviar am Vakarilithien, who goes by "Stu," looks like Shaggy, talks like a surfer, and claims to be Herald of the Whisper King, an invisible entity only Stu can hear that sends him on quests to protect the world from danger.

Can't imagine why the players didn't trust him.

The terms of the geas state that it ends with death, so rather than trust in rando NPC they killed the PC and resurrected him, but in our game resurrection carries consequences, so now we get to decide how to mess with newly-arisen PC. :D

My #DnD players aren't real decisive, and I have presented them with a conundrum: one PC is under a geas to deliver a WMD to a necromancer. They've been trying to figure out how to deal with the WMD and break the geas for a couple of sessions, so last night I gave them an NPC who said he could safely dispose of it, meaning the PC could spend the rest of his life looking for more WMD, never finding any, problem solved. But I played the NPC too suspicious I guess because they killed the PC anyway.

nobody told me the MagiMaster would cast ultima on me when he died! Argh! I hate this stupid tower #ff6
