Ah... My screen reader just said "wot dee". If in all upper-case, it would say "w o t d". Since I know it's "word of the day", I just mentally bounced over the odd pronounciation. I could add the thing to the reader's "dictionary". #a11y #WOTD #screenreader #espeak -

It is best to capitalize the first letter in each word, where they are concatinated, such as in hashtags and variable names. -

I join in your appreciation of those who work to make the !fediverse as accessible as it can be. Been spreading the word to friends who are #blind about it; very few have yet to come over. -

What is this bit of text, or whatever, that may yield "wot dee" as the output? I can visit it with orca. Note: I'm using the default English-UK voice of espeak-ng. #a11y -

As far as "you guys" goes, I'm just a happy user of the software and member of the fediverse.
I do think it makes sense to try to understand how the system works so I can use it to its best effect...in this case the accessibility features.

Momentous achievement for today: I crossed a street, with the guidance of an audible traffic signal; Woopeeee! Having sucessfully conquored this challenge, an old woman touched me on the shoulder, saying, "Good Boy"! I think the bigger accomplishment was my self-control; I just patiently mumbled "Have a nice day", and we went our separate ways. #blind #blindness #LowExpectations #MicroAggressions #dailylife -

Just bought a #thinkpenguin router and configured openvpn in a snap. Their instruction sheet was just the right amount of direction! I'm super excited. As a bonus the USB port on my router has enough juice to power it, so no additional plug into the power outlet! :D

truce
/truːs/
noun
An agreement between enemies or opponents to stop fighting or arguing for a certain time.Origin
Middle English trewes, trues (plural), from Old English trēowa, plural of trēow ‘belief, trust’, of Germanic origin; related to Dutch trouw and German Treue, also to true.==========
In a trice they agreed to terms of the truce. The single punch each had taken to the cheek convinced each of them that cooperation was less painful than fighting. -

The rotating Earth has repositioned my view of the sun.
And, although this long, beautiful day has really been fun,
It's time for me to climb up those carpeted stairs
To read and gradually fade and sleep with my teddy bears. -

And, the text-only version of wunderground has been broken for a long time. I have my zipcode's forecast as my browser's homepage, and it's been saying "internal server error" for a long while. The Mate weather widget is getting regular updates for same area. -
