New England Aster - Symphyotrichum novae-angliae
2019-09-24
Metrowest Massachusetts
One of the harbingers of fall around here is the September/October appearance of New England Aster flowers. The plants look like they might just be unproductive weeds all summer long so it might be tempting to pull the plants out, but if you wait, the bees who gather happily on these abundant, if small, blossoms will thank you.
