Glad I could help with the installfest! Did that Ubuntu-Mate install on the HP desktop ever happen? What did I miss? Turns out, I could have hung a few more minutes; the ride was running a bit late.
So far, gave away a few things, but, there's plenty left! We have a couple folks here, trying to put #Ubuntu-Mate onto something that originally had Win 10. I do not foresee problems.
Apache would crash and not be restarted automatically. System logging was regularly erroring out, which didn't harm anything but it was a hint that something was afoot.
So far, I've not had noticible problems with systemd; what sort of troubles have you had? That said, if I were to encounter some trouble, I'd have a hard time sorting it out. SysV Init looks a lot simpler. I know that Void uses something called Runit. In the little time I've played with this, I noticed situations where services would try to start before other, needed things, were ready. Upstart never gave me trouble, when I was using those old Ubuntus.

David HuntPer suggestion of a friend, I installed his #Debian package called Dbus Broker into a machine running Bullseye, for improved perrformance, especially re: orca and web browsers. He also included a new build of atspi2-core, with dbus broker support. Indications are that the dbus broker service is running, and communication between atspi2-core and the broker are happening. I notice no performance changes, yet. More testing needs be done.
