Meatloaf sandwich for #lunch today. Three nights ago, we had Chinese appetizers for dinner, and my sugar has been running high, since, even though I'm shooting lots of insulin. Let's see where it is, now. Usually, I don't test at lunch. Here goes...

In #2MB #MineRacer, I made it to position 2 on the time scoreboard, and position 2 on the points scoreboard, my total time was 5 minutes and 9 seconds! I scored 365911 points, jumped 19 pits, ducked 17 stalactites, and collected 169 coins! I ended my adventure as a bloody smear on the side of a stalactite! https://social.mayfirst.org/url/1872306

Hmmmmmm, that's a long way down from the first-place finish. Sleepy, again, at midday. #personal

First run since reinstalling Ubuntu-Mate onto the Thinkpad. A recent article mentioned Solus; I grabbed the GNOME version, and tried it. Found no accessibility on login screen and difficulty booting system.

    Hello new #Mastodon folks! 🐘

Have you heard of the #Fediverse? 🗺️

It's a set of community projects that use the #ActivityPub standard to talk to each other.

Mastodon is the most well developed, but there are many works in progress too:

$40 AN HOUR! Cards Against Humanity is hiring kgw.com
    https://nu.federati.net/url/161830

    >Send this to your most awkwardly funny (ok ... offensive) friend.
    >
    >Cards Against Humanity will pay you up to $40 an hour to write the cards that tend to make playing this popular game with your parents an uncomfortable (but illuminating) experience.
    >
    >You have until Aug. 31 to come up with clever submissions.
    >
    >Cards Against Humanity is asking for five black card ideas (those are the ones with the prompt) and 15 white cards (the punchlines).
    >
    >The guidelines for a good card, though, apply to all good writing. Among them are “have a voice,” an “expected tone or logic” and “showing and not telling.”
    >
    >People from historically marginalized communities are encouraged to apply for the position – including people of color, immigrants and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
    >
    >You can find the application and more guidelines here: submissions.cardsagainsthumanity.com

    @infosechandbook

There's an important psychological privacy feature in federation: if your users can switch to another instance without leaving the network, an instance admin is less likely to abuse their power.

A big part of the reason Facebook, Twitter, Google etc do what they do is because they think users have no real choice but to accept their terms and conditions.

If e.g. FB was forced to federate, it would lose a lot of users with each privacy breach.
