I don't believe that #SARS-CoV-2 was bioengineered, but I do believe the lab's researchers were investigating something they had collected in the wild and it got loose.
New intelligence assessment confirms what intelligence agencies said in early 2020 (before President Trump said the same thing).
This is one of the reasons I've always believed that #COVID-19 / #2019-nCoV came from the Wuhan lab. The original assessment (as reported in news sites in 2020 ... I don't have any access to such agencies' internal docs) said that several lab employees were missing work because they were sick ... and this was said to be BEFORE any publicly acknowledged outbreak at the wet market.
@simsa04 @lohang I love it when people can disagree, even disagree strongly on important issues, and still remain friends and be kind to one another.
That's one of the things that I really love about #sonTwo. We don't agree about everything, and yet we can disagree without enmity. #sonOne is rather rigid about such things, so one must not speak about such topics. ( And #Daddy_A is just now learning that conflict avoidance is not always desirable, so only now has he started to speak up about such issues. )
@clacke I didn't refollow. It could have been a periodic automatic reconfirmation, but as far as I know, those have never produced notifications before.
I do know that my now-deprecated #Libranet account could never follow this account properly. (There were multiple other irritations, some of which appear to be limitations of the #Friendica platform itself and others which may be localized on that particular server.)

Some of their claims sound like the claims being made by right-wing #putinoids. It is almost as though they're being fed their doctrines and beliefs by the same Moscow-based organizations.
I'm pretty baffled that many people opting for "transitions" apparently have no grasp of the concept of self-responsibility. Sometimes it sounds to me, from afar, as if vast parts of the U.S. judiciary are deliberately designed to eschew personal responsibility and replace it with blame and restitution. As if the judicial system were desgined to keep people childish.
Transgender man detransitioning back to woman sues doctors for not insisting on alternate treatments before surgery.
The medical people likely face a tough situation. In the current social and political environment, patients face "transition now" pressures and doctors who propose a "go slow" approach face claims they are anti-trans / transphobic.
While I agree that less permanent steps should be considered before permanent steps, at some point, an adult patient needs to make their own decisions and to take responsibility for the decisions they made as an adult.
