    I've seen people claiming that #LBRY / #Odysee is a decentralized platform for video. We'll see how well they decentralized it now that the commercial entity LBRY, Inc, has shut down.

    I bought #GD2 a little outfit for her birthday. I admit it was difficult to find something that doesn't say "little girl" when she's in middle school. #SonOne says she's growing a lot, so when I asked her for her sizes, I was surprised how small her clothing is. It's barely larger than the clothes her cousin #A3 (6 years younger) wears.

    I went to a "Ross" store, so she got a pink and gray t-shirt, black pants, and a pink hoodie for around $25.

    Usually, I consult S for these purchases, but this time she wasn't available.

    I'm not sure whether this restore will succeed. Twelve hours later it is still at 18%. As I said, I really haven't used it, so there's really no loss if I wipe #Windows #Win11 and install something else.

    Or if I decide it isn't worth the effort and trash it.

    So I really haven’t put #Win11 through its paces. Some months ago, when both S and myself were working in #AL, we had discussed cheap #Windows devices and found this device for around $100. We both said we would order it, but it turns out that only I ordered.

    I expected it to run #Win10, so I was surprised to see some slight visual differences.

    Like Win10, Win11 auto-updates and adds all sort of unwanted garbage. It does the force you to view the tour of new features thing, too.

    Talking with #sonTwo about the kids. There’s now a telescope, so even though 4 1/2 year old #GS3 is really too young for it, they can occasionally have an evening observation. He likes space, stars and planets, the moon, and weather. I asked whether 2 1/2 year old #GS4 has started expressing his own preferences yet. The answer is he currently likes what his older brother likes, but he’s less emotionally invested in those topics.

    The exception is TV. GS3 likes “Bluey” and GS4 only likes “Octonauts”. And colors: GS3 likes blue and GS4 likes red. #GS5, at age 1 hasn’t shown any preference yet, but I’ve been looking for clothing in green for now.

    #Win11 machine keeps blue-screening, reinstalling some firmware. Every boot up it shows that it needs a reboot to install a device driver. All it has is a USB keyboard and a USB laser mouse … and an HDMI monitor.

    Not sure whether “Wo-We” just has a bad image that gets put on the device. Anyway, it is now downloading a new Windows image to install in place of the existing one. If that doesn’t work, I’ll check to see whether I can install something more reliable (GNU+Linux, BSD, Plan 9, etc).

    I’m probably going to need a cheap #Win10 or Win11 laptop if and when I take some CompTIA exams. I never needed them before, but I may need them as part of transitioning out of $EMPLOYER.
