According to Google translate, “Koinu” means “puppy” in Japanese. So Taiwan 🇹🇼 RoC and parts of China 🇨🇳 got bitten by a tropical cyclone 🌀 named Puppy.

I don't know where I found the link, but this is a must read for thoughtful people interested in learning more about what historical US elites believed. https://www.jaccusepaper.co.uk/p/selective-breeding-and-the-american [www jaccusepaper co uk]

It seems odd that it appears in a UK based publication and not a US based pub, but still worth reading.

A few years back, I went to a family member's wedding. One of their in-laws had a 1½ year old. Today, they sent a picture. That little kid is in school.

I did not know it had been that long.

On the #Russia vs #Ukraine front, I would say #Putin has been planning to reconquer the former USSR and former Warsaw Pact countries since around 2008. I did not notice it at the time, but I briefly considered it in 2014.

Once I started doing more reading about their conflict after the current phase of their war started in 2022, I'm surprised people don't see it ... and don't see that he intends to put neo-Soviet boots on the ground in Berlin and Paris.

This means the #GOP "antiwar" folks have their heads up their you know whats. Or they're so addicted to the benefits--free advertising from RT, possible bribes and payoffs--and lack any consciences.

The TV in the laundromat is strangely silent, so I looked up and saw "Programming not authorized".

So all it takes to rescue us from reruns of Friends and Big Bang Theory is for the owner to not pay their satellite TV subscription? May that happen from now on, forever.

I think I want a DSLR. Entry level, not too expensive, some decent lenses. Cable that plugs into USB-A (my laptops are too old for USB-C ... upgrading is also on my list). Should be able to pull images from it with Devuan & Ubuntu, as I'm not planning to keep a Windows machine forever.

    Time to do some research.

At the little park next to the highway. I have been here before, but never noticed how loud the vehicles are. Sometimes the engines are louder, but tire noise seems to be always loud. I'll visit other local parks and compare the noisiness soon.

Not with noise meters, since I don't have such equipment.

I am no longer Roman #Catholic, but I have been reading https://www.ncregister.com/ a lot recently. I'm not going that direction, but it is still interesting to see all the happenings.

The synod on synodality seems to be set to overturn some long held doctrines and practices, with the Pope giving weasely answers to "dubia" from various archbishops and cardinals.
