@phildobangnz @guizzy Oof! I didn't even know it was that bad. ;; I thought it was about the biological father paying... which has gotten easier to tell due to DNA testing.
I don't know... people in the past have suffered worse odds. It just requires a lot more careful consideration about who you choose. Which becomes worse in a society filled with lots of casual sex. It's very emotionally unstable. It can be difficult to figure out. To be honest, even the women lose out in break-ups, because it will be harder to find a long-term relationship afterwards. Although some do make it happen.

@phildobangnz Glad the bees are fine. Hopefully they make it through! Condolences on losing your dad's aunt. I can imagine it would be quite the sleepy walking through it experience, and it doesn't seem like you'll get much sleep with what your parents wanted. Doesn't seem like they took into account that you do the nightshift work... :s

@phildobangnz @guizzy Yeah. We have a very liberal attitude to marriage these days... it's more of a traditional thing to do. In any case, there isn't much point to marriage unless you plan to have children. Then it becomes important. If you can actually be a father, then I don't think anything compares. But too often, divorce happens and the fathers lose out just as the children do.

@phildobangnz @guizzy That is probably how it has been for a long time now. Perhaps a portion of the marriages most likely to divorce are from this group. Once the kids are grown up.

@phildobangnz @guizzy Well, there might be if there were more men that way inclined too. Sex has become way too casual in certain circles, and it can be detrimental to those involved. Especially to women and their level of commitment. I imagine that it would be harder for me if I slept around a lot because I'd be desensitised to it.
