@awg Yeah! His description of why he took the photo was inspiring! Almost makes me want to do just that.
-
@awg Definitely! Just knowing it is possible does help. If I get to see it, it would be great! If not, it will still be beautiful to gaze at the night sky.
-
@detectivehyde Perhaps that has always been the case? As sad as that thought is... :/
I hope you can figure out what your dream here is and accomplish it!
-
@awg I mean, I probably won't go looking for it for a few years yet anyway so it shouldn't be too much of an issue there. It would be nice to see it during a holiday I would like to go on some day though! The thought of seeing it near an abandoned castle also... just magical.
-
@dolus @hakui @tija Given all the dialects, it wouldn't make it any easier. I wonder if that is partly what happened with English to American English. If it is a dialect thing.
-
@dolus @hakui @tija Matching the sound depends on peoples accents as well though, right? How would that make it easier given how many accents there are out there?
-
@detectivehyde I'm glad to find a kindred spirit in this feeling! I don't actually want someone to burn it down, it's how it makes me feel on the inside when I have to look at it. When I go out, I feel like I have to avert my gaze and zone out. Our government can't even maintain what they have, and they keep pushing for new builds.
I agree. I'd rather be able to leave it behind... but now they are destroying the villages we have! So I don't even have that.
-
@dolus @hakui @tija Yeah... I guess it is just as well that it didn't take off. His reforms would have probably turned it into a foreign language. :')
-
@ajr @awg This is pretty! If I ever get lost and see places like this then it would be worth it.
-
@detectivehyde It has a way of uplifting the spirit inside me. This is partly why I enjoy going to visit castles and natural spots of beauty. It's frustrating to see it being lost to the ugliness of modern architecture because we don't even build for beauty now. :/ I know I've harped on about this before but I really feel that. I loath cities for this reason. I only like the historical beauty spots and big parks in London... the rest of it could burn with its ugliness. But don't mind me... haha.
-
@awg I have to agree with you there. I like getting lost in the countryside as long as I know roughly where I am. It can be quite exhilarating to feel lost too.
-
@dolus @hakui @tija I don't even know what his 'reform' was. Haha. Either way, it's more of a common thing to joke about than get riled over.
-
@detectivehyde Haha. It's hard but what I do know would still make my ancestry european, so most likely a combination of the above! The further back you go, the more complicated the tree becomes.
-
@awg Ooh... guess I need to learn when one of those is happening and get myself lost in the countryside!
-
@phildobangnz @awg RIP. I guess it makes sense. I mean, it doesn't have to come from a driving school here either but they will take up most of the money if you go with them. ;;
-
@ajr That is what I thought... the water really sparkles around it!
