“People are evil because of the systems they are in. Actual sociopaths are quite rare.” This is a lot of time my argument against the „nature of humankind“ apologizes of capitalism and concrete behavior within Labour exploitation. It is not the nature, it is how these things are designed as interactions and ongoing practices from the micro-,meso- or macro-level. And that’s why the state is not a partner on eye-level
"… on average, when Craigslist’s opened erotic services in a city, the female homicide rate went down 17 percent. 17 percent. That’s not the homicide rate for female sex workers. That’s the homicide rate for all women."
"Another study found when Rhode Island accidentally decriminalised indoor prostitution from 2003–2009, they found a 31% decline in reported rapes and a similar decline in gonorrhea cases."
Oh, and there is this instagram-account to create diversity among the most streamlined animal: Chickens! (And how cool and divers they could look like)
do you have easy to access django-python resources for beginners? I guess i want to go the extra mile and start implement a Django-Project which takes away all these spreadsheeding for the 12 Weeks Year-Thingies.
@andrej i have no idea, if they would scale enough to supply a bigger environment. I mean, i have problems to imagine a peoples kitchen running with solar cookers, which would benefit the avoidance of foodwaste ect. But several energy sources combined? Why not?
@OmnaBrain well, i am not so much in favor for handcranked or personal-scale devices. Like grinding flour-mills, there is a reason community growth was connected to bigger integrated technological systems. blender is a different thing, but could be done with other energysystems as well (pressured steam, high-pressure water). :)

@syndikalista As a practice, using lightweight Linux distros to extend the life of old hardware is an easy one. Not #solarpunk, per se, but still helping to reduce waste and carbon footprints.
So hi #solarpunk people, i have a question: As a to become #Historian of #Technology and avid fan of "#low#tech" i want to know, which is the technology (or practice) you use from day to day you could imagine re-designed for a solar punk #future and how should it be different? I am less interested in #Software, but #tools, #hardware, #practices, #maschines etc. Any ideas? Suggestions? Please share!
@anarchiv actually, yes, i really would like it if we see a revival of compressed steam/air systems. There is so much missed opportunity for cheap energy...
