By demanding encryption backdoors, Politicians are not asking us to choose between security and privacy. They are asking us to choose no security. Here's why: https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/why-a-backdoor-is-a-security-risk
We must fight encryption backdoors around the world. πŸ’ͺ #privacy #HumanRight

    1. Why Any Backdoor Would Be a Threat to Online Security.
      from Tutanota
In regular intervals, Politicians demand that companies add backdoors to their end-to-end encrypted cloud services to enable law enforcements to easier persecute criminals. This demand ignores that any backdoor to encryption poses a severe threat to online security in general. This post explains why a backdoor is - and will always be - a stupid idea.

Assume any information you share with Google will become public eventually.

Reduce your exposure as much as possible.

Use encrypted open source alternatives. If you don't care about your privacy, nobody else will.

    1. Denmark Makes Email Encryption Compulsory for Businesses.
      from Tutanota
Widely unnoticed, Denmark is the first country to require businesses to encrypt emails containing sensitive personal information end-to-end, starting January 1, 2019. This rule is a strict interpretation of Article 9 of the European GDPR. It is the first time a country has made email encryption mandatory β€” but it is expected that more countries will follow the Danish example. This comes as yet another indicator that the protection of sensitive personal data must be prioritized by any company doing business in Europe.
