    @wilbr oops, sorry I pasted the wrong thing (gave you the mailing list address).
    This is what I wanted to show you:

    @wilbr Thanks.
    Hackerspace already exists on openstreetmap but if you think "tool library" should be a distinct category, you should propose it. That's what I did for toy libraries and a few months later it got implemented.
    Here's how to make a proposal:

    @wilbr I'm curious to know what that is exactly. Is it like a workshop where you can come and do your thing or more like a place where you can borrow tools to take home?
    Or something else?

    OpenStreetMap recently added "toy library" as a category. If you know a game and toy library, update its category to make it easier to find.

    @jcbrand Ok I see. I was just staying in the topic of the original toot, but yes, on an issue tracker it's very different. There you kind of are handing over work to others (in the sense that programming knowledge stands between you and fixing your reported bugs).

    2: People don't like to feel taken for less intelligent, and questioning their way of doing something right from the start kind of has that effect (personal experience talking). On the other hand, answering their question directly and assuming they know what they want and ONLY THEN suggest a different approach makes them feel less judged and therefore more open to criticism. 1: Forums are meant to help everyone who stumble upon a similar problem at any time, and the more you specialize your answer towards the specific goal of one person and drift apart from the original question, the less searchable the answer may become and the less helpful the answer may be to the rest of the community. @jcbrand I've answered many questions on various forums too and got lots of help myself, and although this kind of reply is well-suited for chat rooms or other private or temporary discussions, I think it's rarely well-suited for forums, even if the OP is approaching the problem from the wrong side and here are 2 reasons why: (1/3)

    My approach is to try and answer the question even if the approach is wrong (unless it's REALLY obvious or really wrong), AND only then suggest a better approach. This way,
