An open-source (and libre software) consulting firm whose expertise spans from the Linux kernel to LibreOffice and X.Org had another successful year.

Collabora remains at around two dozen employees (23) and they ended 2017 with 2,778,094 £ (~$3.6 million USD) compared to 2,211,750 £ in 2016.

This all indicates the growing will of firms too, to move away from proprietary software

i hope there are groups looking to find some way of long-term-preserving our industrial and scientific knowledge, as well as works of art, so that in case society collapses to a pre-industrial level, it will be eventually possible to recover them all.

Is there a good list of Mastodon/fediverse clients out there including a short pro/con list for each? People should know about how Tootdon sends all their posts to the a third party corporate server for example.
