When Github goes down, FOSS effectively stops right now. It's tragic that we've allowed a single company to gain such control over the open commons.

I recognize that we are in this situation mostly because the 'distributed' side of git is only usable by experts. And I recognize the niche that GH fills (ticketing and PRs in lieu of emailed patches)

New featured deployed: If you have invite links to give away (you get those by writing reviews), you can now add a default language by appending ?signupLanguage=<code>, e.g., ?signupLanguage=de for German (see footer for list of supported codes) to the invite link URL.

That way if, e.g., you want to invite #Esperanto speakers, they'll get the Esperanto user interface right from the get-go, without having to click through English. :) Thanks to Patrick Noll for the PR.

My nephew has an ipad.

He asked his dad how to write games. His dad didn't know. His dad asked me how to write games on an iPad. I told him not to bother.

My nephew asked me how to learn to write games.

I gave him a raspberry pi and a copy of pico 8.

Now he writes computer games.

He couldn't do that on his iPad.
