Maybe this is a good time to look at #fossil again as a git alternative - I'm not saying I don't like git but it is always good to diversify...

It's great news that M$ acquired GitHub.. This means an influx of new users on its FOSS rivals. Dear GitHub, please say hello to Sourceforge when you eventually meet on the bottom of the rabbit hole.

@hikerus selbst Educa, die den Rahmenvertrag mit M$ ausgehandelt haben, warnen davor, sich zu stark von der MS Cloud abhängig zu machen und Alternativen zu planen. Das scheint aber der Kantonsregierung egal zu sein. Hauptsache es ist jetzt billiger und klingt gut...

@hikerus die Rolle an der Schule ist irrelevant. Das sind kantonale Vorgaben, da müsste jemand auf politischer Ebene aktiv werden. Als Schule sind wir schon die Rebellen, welche darauf bestehen, Moodle selbst zu betreiben. Für politischen Aktivismus bin ich zu pragmatisch und zu ausserkantonal wohnhaft... ;)

@hikerus Absolut. Ich vergleiche das Angebot von Microsoft meist mit dem Drogendealer, der auf dem Pausenplatz "gratis" Drogen verteilt...

@hikerus Leider sind OpenSource Lösungen nicht "gratis", da das Aufsetzen einer sauberen Lösung einiges mehr Auwand und externe Hilfe benötigt. Daher sieht halt für sparbewusste Politiker das "kostenlose" O365 sehr gut aus... und ich bin Überzeugt, dass Microsoft auch intensiv in Lobbying investiert.

@hikerus Im Moment nicht. Wir können E-Mail oder Moodle zur Kommunikation benutzen. Allenfalls bietet Microsoft i noch was mit ihrem "gratis" Office365. Da sind wir erst an der Umsetzung.

@hikerus Uns jedenfalls hat die Datenschützerin des Kantons das Benutzen von Whatsapp für schulische Zwecke klar untersagt...Unabhängig von irgend einem Mintestalter, welches WhatsApp festsetzt.

@hikerus Danke für den Link. Nicht neu, aber immer wieder überraschend, wie viele Lehrpersonen WhatsApp einsetzen, obwohl das aus Sicht des Datenschutzes schon lange problematisch war....

@sazius on the #sdf bboard someone posted how they only access Facebook's mobile site from sdf using w3m on the console and delete the .w3m folder afterwards. Guess that's a way to reduce exposure without deleting the account.

@dick_turpin @trwnh @Gargron can't be that hard, Hubzilla has been able to seamlessly move and clone for ages....

@dick_turpin @ArchLinux_Community that's probably because Arch is dead. Better move on to a more modern distro like Slackware.
