@NYbill I use a fountain pen fairly often (about once or twice a week) but don't usually write much. When I try and write a letter (rare) or notes in a journal (fairly rare) I reach a point where my hand seizes up due to lack of practice! However, after a bit more writing things get smoother. So, I think regular practice is the thing as far as coordination is concerned.
As to cursive, I gave up the way I'd been taught at school and developed my own style in my teens and twenties.

Saw the RPi 4B was out and went to the two online stores I usually use. Store 1 had sold out of the 4GB one, and so had store 2. Clicked the 'Notify me' link on both and within 30 minutes store 2 had emailed back. So I ordered a 4GB 4B (with 3amp PSU), and a while later got a confirmation that it's been shipped!!
I'll be running this one off an SSD with no SD card. I just set up a 3B+ to do it and it's looking good. -

@chalkahlom Absolutely! A chicken version of one of the extinct "terror birds" would be just as scary (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelenken, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phorusrhacos)

@clacke Passing this on to my kids. They are not long back from a holiday in Japan where they visited the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo. We've been looking at photos several evenings this past week.

@chalkahlom You start to believe they are evolved dinosaurs when you have had experience with them

@chalkahlom Damn! I missed that one!
Nice print but it looks a bit half-hearted.
Opportunity lost now! π

@ghostdancer @chalkahlom On of the hens died as I recall. It was a long time ago and I was about 8 or 9 years old. The vet was called and he said the dead bird was "crop bound" - which I interpreted as "it choked on grass" or similar.

Took 6 hours 20 minutes. It's in ABS, which may be why it took so long.

@chalkahlom @ghostdancer Hello! I also have grass to cut and haven't quite managed to do it yet.
As a kid I once let our chickens eat the grass clippings, which I was told was a bad idea.

A certain young doctor-in-training that I know (my son's gf) is printing half a human heart on my 3D printer today. Nearly finished at around 6 hours! Still, the other half with all the main vessels and valves, took about 14 hours. I don't use the printer much myself, so it's good to see it in use.

@timttmy I just requested a table for HPR at Oggcamp. Not sure exactly what is being organised but there'll be plenty of space apparently.
Also, FYI, ticket booking is open now.

@claudiom Yes, makes sense. I'm wary of too many 24/7 systems these days.

@claudiom True enough. I tend not to do that these days because of power consumption. I have a few Raspberry Pis that I run as servers or as controllers and they are cheaper to run (us retired peeps on pensions have to watch the pennies π )

@claudiom We ended up using a PC and a KVM switch per 19 inch rack, with the PC running a terminal emulator. Being a university there was no shortage of old PCs as they got recycled out of labs (I still have a few in my attic, though a Pentium 4 isn't a lot of use these days!)

@claudiom We had labs full of these connected to our DEC VaxCluster in the 1980's/90's. I hoarded a few for use on Linux servers but someone (I think my boss) threw them out without discussing. I'd have grabbed some for myself if I'd known that would happen π

@claudiom You're right π My son's a great music fan, so I often ask him for suggestions. Sometimes our tastes coincide. This old geezer should try and learn more from youngsters π

@claudiom I hardly listen to music. I'm sorry to say that I find about 90% of the music I own from the 60's, 70's and onward to be boring. I listen to a lot of classical music now but not on an MP3 player. My friend is a great fan of Genesis for example, but after following his recommendation after a few plays I'd had enough! My brain must be broken π
