I've been using #Orbot + #Orfox for about a month now, with no noticeable battery drain, or even changes in experience aside from the fact that it now takes me seconds to retrieve information, rather the microseconds.

No one has used this to their advantage, so I think I am doing okay.

Clover, age 6: "I'm glad I don't believe in Santa Clause. I don't want to have to listen to get presents!"

Which is adorable and cute... but we don't get Christmas present either, so I feel like the world is gonna teach this kid a lot this year...

#TheLastJedi was the movie I needed to see right now. I loved it, and I miss Carrie Fisher.

It is a deeply complicated train of thought, but I left the theater thinking about how to make America better, to move forward. And I cried a lot.

But that is just me. I cry a lot at movie theaters. Also, great movie. ^_^

@satchmoz ah, right on. Thanks! That was what I was curious about.

BTW, I have 8GB of RAM in my XPS13. In the past I've said I only ever needed 4GB, but I was a liar! ^_^

    Also, I am rocking the following processor: Intel® Core™ i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz × 4

I'll have to check it core/libreboot can work on this machine.

@fuuko most distros work for me. I am more concerned about drivers and BIOS stuff.

I've been thinking about Fedora lately, because I found that Red Hat contributes a whole bunch to GNOME, and that makes me happy. ^_^

Good evening #sdf and the wider #fediverse! Tonight I’ll ask, what would be your perfect Linux #distro or what do you needs to be added or subtracted from the #bsds?

Haha, #Oceans8 is going to be great for me! Why? Because Susan **hates** heist movies! Mentioning the other Ocean's movies gives em cold sweats. Just can't handle the tension.

But the folks in this movie are all amazing, and honestly, I think the only problem will be not enough screentime for each. Susan will *have* to see it!

    Okay, 2018 won't completely suck...

Yo #gopher folks! Moved from discussion (https://discourse.joinmastodon.org/t/add-gopher-to-uri-schemes/696?u=maiki) to feature issue: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/6072

I don't think much discussion needs to happen, but you might want to 👍 or ❤ that issue if you are interested. ^_^

      Add gopher to URI schemes
      from Mastodon Meta Discussion Board
Over on SDF, we use gopher. Seriously, our use is both notable, and parties like it is 1996! [sdf-gopher] So when we link to gopher://sdf.org, we’d like it to actually link. I imagine there are other schemes that might be useful, and checking the code I believe it currently links http, https and ftp. Can we add gopher to that? 🙂 And yes, I know that scheme doesn’t work in popular web browsers, but we don’t all use the web UI, and we’d like those links to come through. Also, our ...

Are there substantial differences between #Ubuntu Server and #CentOS/#Fedora Atomic?

I like the #GNOME distro in Fedora, but I realize I stick with my server software, which is kinda weird. And I know it is odd to switch when Ubuntu is defaulting to GNOME, but a big change like that also kinda freaks me out, and I am not sure I want to stick with 18.04 for two years...

Anything to look out for, server-wise?

@cev it would be more accurate to say it is like #GITSSAC.

The format is the same, and there are similar roles among both teams, including a full support staff remotely running missions with agents in the field.

They also do debriefings the same way, and the relationship dynamics are eerily similar (sans romantic undertones).

It isn't a perfect comparison, but I definitely think the writers took inspiration.

And is it good? I'd say as good as the original #MacGuyver. *Very* fun! ^_^

    @satchmoz @timotheus aww, I really like /meta/meta!

Governance makes sense, and sends the right signals. But I always wonder if that is intimidating...

We want to invite folks to suggest stuff and then we discuss it, reach consensus, that sort of thing.

Also, as our numbers go up, eventually we will have to deal with some assholes, but I expect some committee to help with that, and I wonder if that fits "governance" better.

@satchmoz not a bad idea! And there is actually a plugin to help with that.

I was thinking of a sub-category of meta, thoughts on name? Pinging @timotheus, too.

    How about /meta/direction? /meta/features? /meta/DEMOCRACY!?
