@Gargron I was thinking about the modal, one frame, just because people wouldn't switch windows to their mail.

@TechieInAK ah, yeah, HW devices are hard and HW manufacturers don't help. That was one of the downfalls of the phone, not enough support from SoC vendors.

@Gargron I did the tutorial when I created my account, though most of the material I knew from reading about Mastodon before joining.

Personally I think that a welcome message with directions on where to look for help is probably the most sensible.

@copacetic I think so. Better choice of default packages. Also, I am rather excited about the shift to confinement be default with Ubuntu core.

Cool to see there is a Slack Snap that is actually maintained by the Slack team. The key to moving forward is getting upstream teams maintaining their own packages.

@tinker you might also consider writing more. Might be a good way to investigate small topics/subject without tackling everything at once. Also, could lead to contacts for the next era of your life.

Generally learning about and how to use Mastodon. I think the first thing that strikes me as odd is that when you follow someone their backfeed doesn't fill up your timeline.
