Learned something about USB-C and mistakes people make, thanks!
I realize that it is a new standard, but I am really hopeful we'll be able to have less types of cables in the future.

@judeswae @ubuntu that's the genius of @popey and very cool.
Feel like getting your groceries delivered is the ultimate in opulence.
But, when you've got a sick kiddo and your spouse has to work it sure makes life a ton easier.
@Sturmflut I think it just comes down to his narcissistic tendencies. He wants to be there during the applause.
@FLOX_advocate not sure if you have to, but I did.
@Sturmflut I can't believe you stayed up for it, I don't think anyone in the US watched it other than GOP donors who got free seats.
@Sturmflut it doesn't matter, he only needs a few shots of him standing in front of some tanks for his reality show.
It was all snuck under the wire, so I imagine there were practical limitations. If people don't freak out, I'm sure it'll be larger next year.
Kids are asking about the Fourth of July parade in Washington DC:
"Why does Trump need a parade of tanks?"
"Well, when a man is really really insecure..."
@cwebber @anna not sure what level you're looking for, but for consumers this is on my reading list but haven't gotten to it yet. It seems to be practical and reasonable.

Feel like we need more approachable material for the general public out there.
@edebill @baldur no, that's a packed market.
Github is already headed that way. I think they'll probably own it.
Also there are some distributed solutions being proposed, I'd love to see one of them catch on, but I'm not sure they will.
@baldur don't be so down on his chances!
I believe that if anyone hates their employees enough they can make it!
@cwebber no, most people don't ever change the OS from when they buy it. To the point that people don't upgrade versions of Windows.
If you think about it from a driver stand point, it makes a lot of sense. No one is testing that particular laptop with the new OS, so potentially interactions could and do break things.
Got a new standing desk and I'm generally adjusting to it. But now I'm happy that I can say: "I'm so agile I do stand-ups all day, every day"
@freakazoid I agree, except that Apple has so much cash.
I think there's a possibility that Apple goes on an M&A spree to change things up. Not sure if they have the vision for it, but they certainly have the cash.
Turned on Firefox WebRender yesterday. Everything seems fine.

@iMartyn the new "Oracle vs. Google" 😉
Not sure how we'd compare, but it seems to me that Fuchsia is the most money spent by any company to avoid the GPL. — https://lwn.net/Articles/792465/rss
@tinker oh, Wikipedia has better information (surprise)
