Iβm finding running my own Nextcloud instance is just too much friction and hassle for me. Thinking of moving back to silo cloud storage using Cryptomator for client-side encrpytion. I know itβs not #indieweb but very tempted anyway. Thoughts?
Hi all, does anyone know if there is a workaround to import my old Known status posts into Micro.blog? I have an RSS export of my Known posts, but not XML or WXR.
I'm beginning to think that #WordPress is somewhat overkill for my #indieweb use case - very tempted to revert to just using #Known and then POSSE that to #Microblog and #Mastodon
An article about cycling campaigning, but also an excellent general article about inclusivity and understanding privilege. As a 'Default Man' myself it's certainly made me think: On inclusivity in cycling, privilege and knowing when to shut up and listen - https://raretrack.uk/2018/08/257/ -
We've had quite the influx of new users on Mastodon recently. Welcome to you all! Here are some links that you might like to explore if you're new here, or if just want to know more about how Mastodon works.
#WhyIStayOnMastodon I hope that in the coming years the advantages of small communities will be recognized. The Fediverse is for me like a small collection of many exciting pubs where like-minded people come together. Such places have the potential to create subcultures, create their own language, own jokes etc. To refer to my previous mail: Communities like the RestrealitΓ€t (oldschool community for Berlin techno lovers) are exactly those subcultures I would like to see here.
@jond This! The classic example of the genre being #susanalbumparty where what was meant was #SusanAlbumParty but it got misread as #Su'sAnalBumParty ;) *Note to non-UK readers: Susan Boyle is a minor celebrity singer following her appearance on a TV talent show. Also. bum is slang for bottom here.
