Programming isn't really about programming computers.
It's about communicating precisely and unambiguously.
And looks like humans are pretty bad at it.

Of course, in case of systemd (as in many other cases) there are also mindless fanatics, who are even more vocal.I wish more people were aware of all the nuances of this issue, instead of thoughtlessly repeating "systemd sucks" or "systemd solves all problems".

@pepesza I don't think there's a point trying to convince sircmpwn that a functional language can be a good choice.

I've seen used Thinkpad X220 laptops in a good shape for around 400-600 PLN, which would be 100-150 EUR. Not sure about FreeBSD support, but I'd suspect it's good. -

Fully open, FPGA based, C64/C65 compatible mobile phone.
This is a very beautiful idea.

@quad well, there's a saying that says
"bad news spread quickly".
So if you haven't got any news from them, it probably all went smoothly. -

@quad oh, you couldn't do it yourself because it's a different site?
Also, does the apprentice have some contact with you in case of trouble? -

Xen 4.4.4 doesn't work because "Failed memory-to-memory REP MOVS" :(
Should've tried updating to it while it was still supported, maybe back then #xen channel wouldn't ignore me...
Anyway, looks like I'll have to stay on 4.4.1 for now :/

Yay I got serial console (used for Serial over Lan) working in Xen!
IMO the Xen wiki page on it is pretty confusing, so if you're having trouble with it too, this may be more helpful:

Yes, but most of the time they don't need to communicate proofs.
If I'm a physicist and I need to know whether some weird system of equations has a solution, and a mathematician comes up and says "this theorem says that if determinant of that matrix is nonzero, then it has exactly one solution" I don't care about the proof of that theorem.
