I'm trying really hard not to feed the outrage machine this day.

Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Saturday, 30-Nov-2019 15:33:08 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) The holiday shopping is in full swing, and that means that allp the restuarants within walking distance of my apartment are overrun with holiday shoppers.
I know that this is an extremely privileged problem to have. It's still super frustrating to see these places overwhelmed with people to the point that they can't reasonably function, and then to watch those people be rude as hell.
I guess I'm going grocery shopping.

It's not the last one, it's the only one. None other will ever exist ebay.

I mean, black people and women are hella rare in the statwars universe to begin with, but the first black woman to appear on screen in the universe is a projection of wookie sexual desires!
So is itchy some kind of skin furry? A skinnie? Or...?

Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Saturday, 30-Nov-2019 00:15:08 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) @TheOuterLinux The ewok movies are decent, but I wish I could find them in their original aspect ratios.
The Man Who Saved The World is ... challenging, even for me.
It reminds me of Os Trapalhões Na Guerra Dos Planetas and Ömer the Tourist in Star Trek, althought I found both of those easier to watch than The Man Who Saved the World.

Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Friday, 29-Nov-2019 23:26:13 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) @TheOuterLinux I don't know that I've ever been to this specific site, but I've seen some similar ones in the past, maybe even the same site at a different URL.
It appears to be a decent roundup of films available from Archive.org, with art, even.
But they don't make any distinction between Public Domain and Creative Commons stuff, and all their streams and downloads appear to be straight links from IA or youtube.
For a site like this to be useful for me, I'd need better metadata and search.

Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Friday, 29-Nov-2019 22:39:48 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) The Curse of the Faceless man was reasonably enjoyable.
I found the narration a bit heavy handed, but otherwise I thought it was spooky enough, with a couple of scenes that were really menacing, but it was ultimately still a 50s B-Movie.
Now I'm watching something called By Whose Hand, which appears to be a nice locked room mystery on a train?

I haven't owned a record store for years.
I guess I need to start googling my own phone number and figure out where I failed to remove it from.

It will also work for local playback, but only if each person involved has a copy of the same file.

Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Wednesday, 27-Nov-2019 22:39:12 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) It looks like we'll be using two seven to watch the Star Wars Holiday Special on Friday.
Two Seven doesn't support playlists, and it requires you to create an account in order to join a room.
I don't like either of these things, but it's the only sync'd video playback option I've found with voice chat that actually ... works and doesn't need a browser plugin.
I'll probably kick the room open around 2pm eastern with some Space Patrol, and start the holiday special around 5:30.
