@maenad Heh maybe.
Many of my friends fall in to this pattern, but most of them just ghost me at the last minute, rather than speaking up on the front end.

@tek And she recognized that she was not communicating effectively, so she chose to leave the conversation and continue it at a later time.
Unfortunately, where we landed here was "This is the only time I will have a chance of having enough people, and only if everyone who said they will come does come."
So now I'm trying to find some alternates.
@tek That's the thing, she's the most accommodating person in the world.
That's the problem.
She's trying not to be a problem (so she doesn't list restrictions when asked, because maybe she can work around them) and trying not to bail on another standing commitment (that she didn't mention because she was trying not to be a problem.)
@tek Trying to be accommodating, but if that's what it comes to, that's what it comes to.
Also, sorry for subtooting your sister Josh, but Damn did that exchange ever rub me the wrong way.
@arielmt Nice! I need to replace my battery too, because I'm positive it will start leaking soon.
No! Turns out that "any day after 3pm" actually means "any day after 3pm except sunday because I have plans that I failed to mention here, and except I have to work at 4 AM most days, so we can't actually do anything after 7pm, and could you actually just do it Friday or Saturday durring the day even though other people can't come?"
So I'm going to text my brother, and we'll do this when he's free.
I need 6 people for this event.
I asked when everyone was available.
I was told:
- any day but friday
- any day but saturday
- any day after 3
- any time between 6pm Friday and 8pm Sunday
- any day
- any day
- any day
So I chose Sunday at 5pm.
This is reasonable right? It's the only time that everyone is available.
So I convey that to the group.
It's frustrating to try and schedule something with someone who is 1) very vocal, 2) too anxious to commit to anything, 3) too stubborn to accommodate change, 4) too conflict averse to actually discuss this.
So I guess I'm going to invite some more people now, and just do whatever works best for them.
Flatpak is a bad idea.
AppImage is a bad idea.
Bringing pure binary approaches (no fetchable sources via same means) to software deployment in F/LOSS is going to splinter communities and make debugging and licensing even MORE of a burden (https://v2.jacky.wtf//post/5c7ac97d-a475-416a-a432-fbecb055a4b0)
I should probably start writing anime reviews
These are my current favorite in the #mountainTownToys lineup.
Forgive the messy desk and the rushed paint job, but check out two Buck Rogers figures cast from original 85 year old molds.
@Username_Here_ASAP There's a little more nuance to the situation than that, but yeah it was the wrong move IMO.
@estoricru Most days I can focus on work enough to be effective at my job, and I can actually hold on to the energy until after work.
Today, not so much I expect.
@estoricru The world is so big and there's so much in front of us and some of it is bad, yeah, but also some of it is good.
That's a lot to take in.
@estoricru There's a work thing that's being kind of persnickety, so I'm irritated.
I tried three times to get a Raspberry Pi 4 to boot yesterday, and failed each time.
I am in a weird heightened state in anticipation of all the neat shit I could be doing if I wasn't working ++ the stuff I'll be doing after work today ++ the stuff I'll be able to do after I get some new equipment and supplies tomorrow.
I just finished a cup of coffee, and I'm positively V I B R A T I N G with energy.

Just generally antzy.
Hi! How are you today?
I want to gripe about work, but a coworker was just fired for griping too loudly in the wrong venue, so maybe I won't gripe about work.
