Many of my friends fall in to this pattern, but most of them just ghost me at the last minute, rather than speaking up on the front end.

Unfortunately, where we landed here was "This is the only time I will have a chance of having enough people, and only if everyone who said they will come does come."

So now I'm trying to find some alternates.

@tek That's the thing, she's the most accommodating person in the world.

That's the problem.

She's trying not to be a problem (so she doesn't list restrictions when asked, because maybe she can work around them) and trying not to bail on another standing commitment (that she didn't mention because she was trying not to be a problem.)

Also, sorry for subtooting your sister Josh, but Damn did that exchange ever rub me the wrong way.

No! Turns out that "any day after 3pm" actually means "any day after 3pm except sunday because I have plans that I failed to mention here, and except I have to work at 4 AM most days, so we can't actually do anything after 7pm, and could you actually just do it Friday or Saturday durring the day even though other people can't come?"

So I'm going to text my brother, and we'll do this when he's free.

I need 6 people for this event.

I asked when everyone was available.

I was told:
- any day but friday
- any day but saturday
- any day after 3
- any time between 6pm Friday and 8pm Sunday
- any day
- any day
- any day

So I chose Sunday at 5pm.

This is reasonable right? It's the only time that everyone is available.

So I convey that to the group.

It's frustrating to try and schedule something with someone who is 1) very vocal, 2) too anxious to commit to anything, 3) too stubborn to accommodate change, 4) too conflict averse to actually discuss this.

So I guess I'm going to invite some more people now, and just do whatever works best for them.

@estoricru Most days I can focus on work enough to be effective at my job, and I can actually hold on to the energy until after work.

Today, not so much I expect.

I tried three times to get a Raspberry Pi 4 to boot yesterday, and failed each time.

I am in a weird heightened state in anticipation of all the neat shit I could be doing if I wasn't working ++ the stuff I'll be doing after work today ++ the stuff I'll be able to do after I get some new equipment and supplies tomorrow.

I just finished a cup of coffee, and I'm positively V I B R A T I N G with energy.
