I was inspired by @darius 's essay about small social networks and wrote a few words on my own experiences over the year building online communities.
Build them small and they will stay

Sikhs have always had to put up with post-9/11 Islamophobia because ignorance doesn't care about the differences in the religions, just the otherness of them and in that they might as well be the same thing

"“Everybody relates to us through Osama bin Laden because we look the same,” he says, driving across the plains toward the Texas Panhandle. “Or they think because my English sounds different that I am not smart. I know who I am.”"
the story is a beautiful one but also sad, especially the above bit, not surprising, just sad

What I remembered looking through this: Weird Al signed an absurdly long contract with a record company. I think it may have been for 35 years? I forget the specifics but I think they couldn't terminate the contract as long as his album sales were good, so, they assumed, because he was a novelty musician, that they'd be able to jettison him after an album or two. But he wound up fulfilling the entire contract. He just got out of it in the last couple of years.

as many others have said, this stage playoffs are the most unpredictable yet, any of these teams could take it tbh
even the Outlaws can upset the Titans if they play at their top form
