It's wild how people spend so much time arguing over which way to spell or measure is superior when we're a bunch of energy vibrating slowly while hurtling into oblivion.
@mayel@mattcropp There's also the not insignificant problem it causes for people who have voice dysphoria, or are otherwise uncomfortable with sharing their voice.
Progress is distressingly slow. 125% growth rate looks good on electronic paper, but I feel like I'm in limbo waiting for enough funds to push my life forward any.
Go subscribe and get yourself some Helm and Serum presets, plus MIDIs. 5 days left to hit 10 patrons before the end of the month. https://www.patreon.com/digitalscofflaw
It's near the end of the month, which means it's time to remind you I have a Patreon where you can help me make music and art for as low as $1 a month! #onedollarpatreon#music#patreon
I've got another batch of melodies to start posting after the January-June batch runs out. I also managed to stop making them just short of burning out, so that's fantastic.
I'm getting better at that. Right now I have enough presets and MIDIs made to keep $5+ subscribers busy two times a week through September. I made these in the space of about a month. Any more and I'll be out of commission for a year!
*extremely medium dot com popup voice* I notice you like a lot of my posts and are also a bipedal, carbon-based lifeform. Let's make it official. https://www.patreon.com/digitalscofflaw

To be clear, I don't mind acknowledging GNUSocial's and its community's contributions, whatever they may be. What bothers me is, yet again, queer and PoC communities are not really getting much acknowledgement for their contributions in press and conversations outside Mastodon.
Mastodon owes its success to Eugen's patience and acceptance, and to the rainbow nerds who joined early.
Federated social media owes its newfound relevance to Mastodon. Let's not confuse the order of events.
Some pre-Mastodon fediverse participants want credit, but as best as I can tell previous implementations were content to be obscure and inaccessible to a non-technical audience.
You can't live in your moat for years then get mad when gay witches and furries make something that's actually inviting to people who don't live and breath code.
I tried the previous thing. Nobody talked about stuff I was interested in. Sorry for not namedropping you when I talk about my new social media home but I only have 500 c
