If you do a thing in an open source project, and you have a hard time doing it because it's not documented, after you finish doing the thing... document it. If the project has a wiki, put it in the wiki. If it has a docs repo you can write to, put it there. Or at least blog about it so search engines can index it.
Please don't leave the solution to languish in a chat log somewhere.

Buddy I work with just got out of 84 days served because it was that or pay some fines caused by an illegal traffic stop; paying the fines would've put his wife on the street.
If anyone in #ChapelHill knows of some work needs done, he's a good handyman, does basic lawn stuff, indoor paints well and even does some sheetrock stuff.

@JohnBrownJr imagine the new bond being a kurdish lesbian SDF agent doing spy shit to navigate the mess of international players using the region for proxy shenanigans.

Beto O'Rourke is patting himself on the back for admitting that his ancestors owned slaves. This is how it works though. The way wealth moves around in capitalism is that is actually doesn't move around that much at all save from generation to generation. A rich person today once stole the work of unfree people. A successful company today once benefitted from unfree labor. Wealth concentrates into fewer and fewer hands. Marx and the other thinkers who pointed this out were right. Show me a wealthy person, I'll show you someone who benefitted from exploitation, if not outright slavery.

perhaps the most surreal part is not fash playing by the historical fash playbook, but by all the other major players fumbling to their tune. centrists thinking you can bargain and appease, cutting out and cutting off the non-compliant and the radical alike. perhaps that’s because that foolishness is foundational to a system of slavers, by slavers, for slavers — perhaps it’s only surreal because i am unprepared.

ICE agents went through a friend’s neighborhood today but national mews is reporting that the raids “didn’t materialize”
badged fash shot dead someone trying to destroy the tools of their cruel trade and within hours we’re awash in police misinfo about the killing
prez says “go back to your own countries” to elected officials who the dems have been punishing for objecting to funding concentration camps
it’s so much. all the time.

@violet @lyliawisteria sorry, that’s what i meant. cars generally dont manipulate your behavior, afaik, at least not the way targeted ads try to.

@lyliawisteria software is scary! i really dont blame folks for hesitating to mess with things they don’t feel they understand. to me software is like a car: even if most people need a car to get around, not everyone needs to be a car mechanic. unfortunately all cars are manipulating your behavior to elicit sales so the metaphor kinda breaks down.

this is the letter allegedly left by Willem Van Spronsen before he attacked the transport infrastructure of the Northwest concentration camp
(it was posted on a Facebook thread by a leftist from Tacoma who said he was Willem’s friend)

this person asking me “how does an ad-blocker work and why would i use one” in the year of our joddess 2019 made me feel like i live under the internet’s back porch where all the critters and cryptids suck on slime. i poke my head up to follow a twitter link but the light burns my eyes.
