like screw the stock market, explain to people how interest actually is working, how to get your credit report, basic strategy on how to use credit cards, repayment strategy

a group providing this to their community would be providing more than most schools do on the subject

it's bullshit. the second argument, that it would "give an unfair advantage to democrats" is the real reason it doesn't happen.

that and, it would legitimately be expensive and difficult to extricate the actual federal zone from the city

tbh it'd probably be easier if we changed the law and had it just be part of the state and not separate at all, but what do i know

and local politics is still pretty fucked too. we have independents who run but everybody just votes blue because fuckin america i guess

also like, i always feel like i know enough people in DC who would vote Green or DSA or something, but somehow we keep ending up with fucking Muriel Bowser as mayor so yea i guess we'd just continue supporting democrats
