The question arose because in many popular science-fiction universes (including Star Wars, Asimov and Dune), either the economic system is eluded (often for a generic market economy similar to ours), or the little we learn about it generates more questions about its actual viability than it answers.

    @pitroig.red I cannot help you there. Maybe they are afraid of a pregnancy in space, and they simply cannot fathom sex having any other function. It could also be a reductive title for a more specific answer, but the fact they couldn't figure out how many tampons a woman would need for a short mission in space doesn't inspire confidence.

    TW: Pure unadulterated #sexism

    At a professional conference my partner is currently attending, there's another woman whose husband was supposed to take care of their 2-year old kid while she was away for the week. Today, on day 2 of the conference, he called her to say she needs to come home because he's sick and take care of him and the kid. He has refused to call his brother or her sister who are 20 minutes away for help.

    There's no happy ending, the woman is now rushing to pack to catch a flight back home this evening. Despite making me, of all people, look incredibly good, this shit is making me absolutely livid. How many women's lives have been absolutely wrecked by this kind of unchecked patriarchal entitlement?

    The thought is dizzying me once again.

    Along with @Null Signal Games for Android: Netrunner, I discovered today the existence of @Emerald Legacy which is also a community-driven project to maintain a #LivingCardGame (LCG) after its original commercial publisher ended support for it, this time for Legend of the Five Rings.

    Having been completely absorbed by Magic: The Gathering in my high school years, I've never looked too much into either games when they were still commercially supported but I'm still glad that they are living on thanks to the work of volunteers,

    @Andy H3 You're right, my issue with whitespaces (which includes tabulations, non-breakable spaces and zero-width spaces) is that it's easy to miss them, especially if they are at the beginning or at the end of the password.

    And it's easier to enforce a blanket ban on white space characters than warn about them being in the beginning or the end of the password.

    I guess the reasoning is lost to time and we can safely disregard it now then. It would leave whitespaces which I don't think should be part of any password.

One housemate was winning and really enjoying his triumph over the rest of us. So I suggested to my other two housemates that we form a cooperative. We would let each other off rents on our properties. The standards rents would apply to anyone not in the coop. And you could leave the coop if you wanted. None of this is forbidden in the rules of Monopoly because it has little market regulation.
