    !Friendica Developers What was the reasoning behind banning accentuated letters in password? Someone posted a GitHub issue questioning the restrictions and while rude, they had a point.

    @CapritiaJH This is a vast question, but on the whole I don't think we are very intelligent. In the lapse of a geological sneeze, we have managed to make our environment much worse four ourselves than how we found it, and that's even going into the massive economic inequalities that makes the wants of the few fulfilled by the misery of many.

    We are able to reason, mostly to reason away structural problems, but intelligent? Doubtful.

    @CapritiaJH I do think I’m as qualified as anyone else to judge because there is no mysterious designer with hidden intent I could be ignorant of and therefore wrong about my judgement.

    Evolution is a blunt design instrument, very likely to settle for local maximas, with no overarching goals. This is also why its production feels both alien and amazing to us goal-oriented individuals because we get lost in the “why?”, a question that plays absolutely no part in a process which time scale also dwarfs us.

    However my original post was mostly a jab at religious people trying to appropriate scientific lingo in absence of actual evidence. Please don’t take it too seriously.

    Hi Hypolite!

    I’ve been trying to run my own Friendica server but I’m facing some issues… I’m using YunoHost.

    After the installation I face these issues:

    • I can’t connect with anyone, no matter which protocol they are using;
    • I can’t import any ActivityPub contacts;
    • My little server seems to be living in the middle of the Ocean, unreachable in an isolated island!
    Any ideas about this?

    @scriptwelder I just have a couple small suggestions to streamline the game: new cards should be added to the discard pile, not the drawing pile. It's happened to me several times that I completed a project with an empty draw pile, which made me draw the couple new cards, delaying the shuffle of the discard pile.

    Additionally, or alternatively with the previous suggestion, the discard pile should be reshuffled immediately once the drawing pile is exhausted, allowing the player to always draw 5 cards at the beginning of their turn.

    Otherwise, the game ran flawlessly, it was fun and strategic, the art is gorgeous and the historical texts are very interesting (to me anyway). Congratulations!

    I've recently shared on here that running water and sewers were my favorite engineering feats including because we now take them for absolute granted nowadays. But it hasn't always been the case, and I just had a lot of fun managing a Polish city's water supply from the XVth century into the XXth thanks to @scriptwelder . Check out Waterworks!

    #MiniReview After 8 hours, I finished Titanfall 2 (2016) single-player campaign and it was very, very good, as @Bean!_ advertised. I tried to find a multiplayer cooperative Frontier Defense game but I couldn't keep a connection to the server before actually finding a game. I'm sad there's no local bot match but overall I can't complain.

    The Twitter breach doesn’t contain passwords but it does link username, email and especially mobile phone numbers, so the best (only?) course of action to protect your account is to disable SMS (phone-based) 2FA and enable TOTP (app-based) 2FA.

    @syls Yes you may, although I'm familiar enough with the game that I was part of the official forum during the Kickstarter and made the first version of the Rimworld website managing the rewards. I took my distances with the creator once he started spewing men's rights bullshit though.
