@popey
I've tried it with several snaps. Gimp, OBS Studio, gnome calculator. I've tried running them from the menu as normal and nothing happens and then from the terminal inside the session and that's where I see the display error.
@popey , Can you offer any tips on how to run snaps from a virtual desktop (vncserver). I keep getting "cannot connect to display :1" errors. Thanks.
OMFG I just fell in ~LOVE~ with the /etc/skel directory :)
@platypus Yes. I think that's the root of my inability to function in this class. I have 0 intention of ever doing research.
After five years of drudgery, trying to reach this fucking degree one class per semester while working full time, I'm about to say fuck it because this research methods class is fucking killing me and sucking my will to live.

Turns out I should have tried a simpler solution first. My TBC was actually making the video worse! Taking the TBC out of the loop got rid of the flagging at the top of the video. Lesson learned! #digipres
Using an clicker eraser and James P. Carse's book "Finite and Infinite Games" to hold the eraser in place in order to manually adjust the backtension on a vhs tape while I digitize it.

@Holly Hi Holly. I'm not sure. I'm not normally like this. But this research class is sucking my will to live. I have no intention of doing research, yet it's a required class. I'm looking to the bare minimum to pass the class with at least a "B" and then put the whole experience behind me. My simulated research project will probably revolve around how public libraries can evaluate what technologies are useful to their communities. My instructor as advised me to leave out the ethics part
The really hate the "Bullshit and Lollipops" nature of education.
I'm really struggling with this research methods class because I just can take it seriously.

Thinking about starting an underground collection of all things alternative and weird in the library??? Looking at stocking up on books about Waldorf education and parapsychology books like this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1938398920/
Advice? :)
