@rocket actually prefer the user experience mastodon as a software provides should be able to enjoy it in a proper space that respects them. occult.camp was going to be shut down but me and eifie have decided to volunteer to maintain it and I'm going to probably need to seriously like, review everything about the way instances should be structured because I want to salvage the instance and turn it into something thats uplifting and safe. What extra things should I be doing to de-masto the instance
@rocket I still dont know much about the voz situation but that's pretty fucked up. The white hegemony of Mastodon is pretty bad and needs to be talked a lot more. Perhaps this article can be somewhat of a wakeup call to readdress things that have been pushed to the side in the discourse. I really want to do something to jam the prevailing opinions of the platform or at least carve out a healthier niche on a more selectively federated masto instance because I feel like ppl who otherwise would (cont)
What the author actually was describing as apolitical were not these problem users who actually have harmful apolitical opinions, or the actual self described "apolitical" former-gamergate pleroma developers. The people she characterized as being apolitical were a community of leftists and lgbt ppl who get fucking overworked talking too much about politics and wanna do it at their own pace and leisure, and provide CWs, aka content WARNINGs first. The article is wack and bad faith
I had an interesting conversation with my partner about apoliticals on mastodon. Of course I think that the articles explanation of how apolitical mastodon is, is completely wrong. But there are a number of users who keep their head in the sand, like people over at awoo space, or bootsy, who made jokes about people traumatized by glips presence and ignored the real issue. Mastodon on the reg is not like this. But there are people like this. But the authors take on this problem was BAD
Hark, for mine own name is Timothy of Clan Buckley, a twenty-and-four-years-old gamer. I've did play every termagant game in existence, and i has't nev'r hath slayed anyone. Thither art millions of gamers like me, and we're heaving the gorge as people like thee art blaming thy problems on us. Ignorance causes violence, not tele-visualed games. Knight up and taketh responsibility. We outnumber thee, and the people yond bethink like thee. Alas, mess not with us.
GM bought out and then murdered rail systems to create the hyper individualized nightmare of cities and people being forced to rely on cars. And they did it promising vast infrastructure for buses then decided to just kill that idea too. Anyways rich people don't have souls and neither do cars
