I love Zhuangzis butterfly poem and it has had a significant impact on my life. It is applicable on so many different levels. It even helped me cope with a lot of trans feelings and frame it in a healthy way. It also predates the concept of dialectical materialism by many centuries and conveys a similar statement.

But these two angles of viewing the poem don't even do it justice.

@InvaderXan I really need to replay it because a lot of scenes had such an impact on me. and ive been so motivated to want to make renders of cyberpunk or deiselpunk settings like in FFVII or The Longest Journey and adapt them into some kind of pre-rendered project.

God so many emotional beats all throughout, its hard to remember them all because of the magnitude of the game. the grind.

but i DO prefer taoist philosophy to greek philosophy. It's anti-authoritarian, naturalist, wholesome, healthy, and very complex. I have always considered myself a taoist. It has always had a massive impact on how i view the world, nature, myself, and spirituality.

Some day, your life may depend on the work of a security researcher. Whether it’s a simple malfunction in a piece of computerized medical equipment or a malicious compromise of your networked car, it’s critically important that people working in security can find and fix the problem before the...

As networked computers disappear into our bodies, working their way into hearing aids, pacemakers, and prostheses, information security has never been more urgent -- or personal. A networked body needs its computers to work well, and fail even better. Graceful failure is the design goal of all...

WTF! It Should Not Be Illegal to Hack Your Own Car's Computer

I spent last weekend elbow-deep in engine grease, hands tangled in the steel guts of my wife’s Mazda 3. It’s a good little car, but lately its bellyachings have sent me out to the driveway to tinker under the hood. I regularly hurl invectives at the internal combustion engine—but the truth is, I live for \[…\]
