@mal the motivation and intent of older vaporwave is much more than lol 80s 90s aesthetics.. i wanna make a big essay about why. i can't explain it properly in a venue like this honestly. but basically its a musical distillation of alienation, introspection, and the meshing of memories in ways. and also critical of consumer culture. its complicated. also its a step in a different direction compared to other plunderphonic/pirate music styles which has significantly impacted it permanently.

and while vaporwave is kind of deserving to be mocked, it's also not because the motivation of its existence, and people who trailblazed the style and themes, they had a purpose for what they were doing, and it was something special. its second wave is really indicative of everything laughable, cringe, wrong about it imo

while toruses have unique and severely uncommon topology, i don't doubt that there are conditions that lead to a large enough torus cosmic entity. at the very least we could find concave planets that approach the form of a torus but finding a torus like that would be out of our scope right now as far as astral discovery tools go imo

odo is a good parent but theres no visible proof that anything hes doing is helping but its damn impressive

i just got a genius idea for a video game. you shave off david lettermans beard, and then launch him into a trash dumpster off a catapult.

@maenad i like them most when they reflect a chaotic, carefree, and truly alien kind of juxtaposition to the mundane. fantastical and connected with nature in a way humans are. but completely unpredictable. some nice. some bad. but all have a sort of natural wisdom or affinity. for this reason, i think D&D is a good canvas for a fun time with fae, but it depends on the DM. i like old stories of dullohans a lot also. and anything like dryads, which aren't fae but... i like those kinds of archetypes.

@violet um also id say it makes for a good confidence boost and its principles for understanding it arent too complicated. you can do it relativelt quickly with practice.
