I used to think closing registration on pixelfed.social would encourage growth in other instances.

Well it turns out most users just wait for registration to re-open.

I can understand it, I joined mastodon.social because it is operated by the developer of mastodon.

May 31: Launched pixelfed.social and published the code.

This is the first pixelfed commercial, missed the deadline but I had so much fun working on this. #pixelfed

Looking back I wonder if I made the right choice to delay federation this long.

v1.0 will launch with 2FA + Security Log, Enhanced Privacy features, Help Center, Instagram Import, Admin Dashboard, S3 support, Filters, Albums, Video support and a lot more.

Time will tell if it was worth it I guess. #pixeldev

@snder As I said on IRC, I think this is a bad idea if you are using the same database.

Each remote instance will treat each of those domains as unique and store duplicate posts if it knows a user on more than one domain.

@michel_slm @pixelfed It does orientate the image during the optimization process. You may have to refresh the page as it takes a few seconds.
