@Are0h over the past few weeks, I've been stopping my classes and asking all my overseas students to vote. There's only a handful of them, but they all come from all over and it matters. I got 2/5. Made my heart sink, and yes, it bears witness to the not holding breath. Still I'm going to keep stopping my classes, telling them I voted, and telling them they need to. For them, they think it's an ignorance of youth, I wish they could see it as complaisant collaboration.

just watched the remake of Annie (film) with my 12 & 18 yr old and it's got us all in the feels. I really liked it. ❤️

My run was cut short today - due to the water meeting the sky and swallowing up the road in the meantime.

so I was just ready to part with some old stuff. I had a couple of little old Hello Kitty things - all pristine and I took all the photos to ebay it up, and for no reason I opened the zip.

to find my mum wrote my name on the inside IN PEN. First name on one side, last on other. WHY-O-WHY?!?

This pristine collectable thing from 1976 (when I was too small to play with it,)with a little unused sharp pencil and unopened mini pad of paper. I guess it can go back in the 'old little stuff' drawer.

Today is an exception to the rule, a different to the routine, and I'm choosing all the right things (including a walk in woods that are 'guarded' by chickens)

Sunday evening, darkness well before 7pm. I've had the longest recovery from this debilitating cold/fever thing (still on 2 naps a day- the kind that happen not by choice- and I said goodbye to my running routine two weeks ago) Hoping this is it for the winter.

Recovery reminds me that I really am bad at the basics of self-care. Thankfully this coming week is our reading week, so I can get ahead. Going to make a menu, a sleep chart, and a list of important things like making time to read. :)

@Downes @jennymac I've been watching and waiting as well. I think it's because in your post it says the website will launch in the end of Sept. -so I was wondering if we are supposed to do pre-work or anything.

@fgraver that is definitely fixable - and genuinely well done for noticing.

I'm realising more and more that there are people who steamroller, don't notice, and chastise you for (man or woman) noticing. There is so much engrained that is not ok.

and yes, the US makes me sick and deeply troubled beyond sad or angry. What will this mean for my (and others') children.
