@codewiz probably there are but I don't host hundreds of thousands of small instances :) Still, there is no need to host everyone in the same servers. For example one can have 50 instances on a server and have another 50 in another. This way one can have independent resources. I am not using orchestration but custom built scripts to manage the hosting. @switchingsocial
@borup Hello, the customisation available is via the Mastodon administration interface. So, besides the standard instance settings, you have the Custom CSS option to do some changes to the design.
@rio yes, thank you. I still have not upgraded to v2.9.1. I usually wait 24 hours before upgrading to avoid this kind of issues. All going well tomorrow I will upgrade to v2.9.2 that already fixes that issue.
@liaizon my issue with other releases is not so much interest but stable releases. For example GlitchSoc doesn't have information about tested/stable releases. The latest release listed on their GitHub is from 2017 https://github.com/glitch-soc/mastodon/releases and it doesn't have information on what changed and what is suggested to do to upgrade. If it was a fork with tested and stable releases I could consider it.
@operator I implemented CloudFlare to CDN media files because I was getting reports of latency from the Object Storage in France to locations around the work. I can easily disable it for an instance, so if you want to try that it's not a problem for me, just let me know.
It never happened to me personally and I only got reports about that when someone is using TOR but itβs possible they mess that up.
I can disable CloudFlare from your images without a problem but depending on the location of access it can make the load times of a page slower. Still, do let me know if you want me to disable it for your Mastodon instance.
@operator I don't have any problem loading images on social.datsemultimedia.com. So, the problem must be on your end. If the issue continues please let me know.
