Ok, so Hal Puthoff (an old Stargate hand; I like him) was the one running that 2007 military contract through Bigelow (a name long whispered as being a UFO buff). And here he is talking about it.

Bismuth and terahertz radiation, hmm. I do remember much whispering about bismuth and also terahertz in the fringe literature, maybe going back to the 90s. This Art Bell sample is maybe why?

The whole College is flying blind, though. Nobody really knows anything.

Ah. Here's the weird NASA/MUFON guy I was thinking of. Not Timothy Taylor. Alan C Holt. Still in the College, I think, though. Hanging out with Hal Puthoff and the NIDS folks.

I love the weird underbrush of the rocket world.

So I certainly believe in Jacques Vallee's Invisible College of UFO believers, many of whom are active in Silicon Valley and defense technology but don't report to any military boss and certainly wouldn't put this weird stuff on any quarterly report. That's why it's 'above Top Secret', because it's not even classified because... who the heck would approve the funding? Private billionaires, that's who.

Still doesn't mean they got what they were looking for... but they've been looking, sure.

but UFOs, NDEs, faith healing, spoon bending, any of those will give you a big jolt and make you think 'what the heck DO we know' and a few of those people will also be rocket scientists and, put the two together...

The talky ones have always said don't look at the military. Look at the world of private defense *contractors*. Starting with Townsend Brown and, apparently, William Stephenson. People with private money and access to spy networks and a burning desire to know what the heck.

I mean nobody really cares now, I guess.

I still think the bulk of UFO sightings are paranormal events and *those* are the easiest to deal with.

I also think there's been a whole host of 'attempted replications', from pretty much anyone who's seen a UFO and went '.... O_O so what does that imply about physics...'

I am not convinced that any of these achieved anything, or produced any unified project or even theory. That was my impression in 1986 and it's still my impression today.

aaand of course Reddit and Above Top Secret both got there in February. Skeptiko's way late to the party.

It's a fun time, though. Feels a bit like the mid-90s! Project Greenglow! Breakthrough Propulsion Physics! the Lifters! Stephen Greer and all his weird dog and pony show.

are we finally doing Disclosure? is this a thing that's happening? the Invisible College has been passed on to a new generation, I guess it's time. the Tom DeLonge thing was a real heads-up?

Pretty sure I remember a NASA guy who was on the ISS team, working with robot manipulator arms I think? whose name was on some weird UFO papers a couple years ago.

NASA's always had a few weird folks. Some of whom were in MUFON.

if it's the guy I'm thinking of, he hosted a seminar on reverse engineering UFO tech and *exceedingly* weird paper circa 1979 (Peak MUFON years) about how to build hyperspace alien stargates using magnets. While working at NASA, yes. Didn't hurt his career any.

<< The core of the book is about his career at Kennedy Space Center beginning in 1979 .. working at both Kennedy Space Center and later Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Taylor progressed through various titles and up the proverbial ladder. His last true position with the space program was senior project engineer at Kennedy with the International Space Station program. He then moved to Huntsville as lead engineer-payload systems. >>

oh hey I wonder if it's the same guy....

    A book *by* him, actually.

<<Inventor? Space engineer? Venture capitalist? Community leader? Author? How about father and husband... Taylor is director of investments-venture capital for Harbert Management Corp. He also is current president of the Birmingham Venture Club and Co- founder and chairman of the Alabama Information Technology Association.>>

Dr Diana Walsh Pasulka, author of the book 'American Cosmic' which seems to be making a few waves in the UFO scene, went on paranormal podcast Skeptico... and already one of the commenters thinks they've doxxed her spooky contact 'Tyler'.

    • Rich Graham 🕉️

@Rich_Graham That is also true, yes. Even the Findhorn / Lorian / St John the Divine / Lindisfarne set was full of very different people with very different political agendas, like Mark 'radical centrism' Satin, a Vietnam draft avoider who advocated a return of the military draft in the 2000s. The previous Theosophical demi-monde in the 1920s also had socialists and Fascists among it (and ambiguous could-go-either-way volkisch proto-Greens like Rudolf Steiner). It's all very vexing.

    omg omg

The New Troubadours - Winds of Birth (1974), entire album

the one after Spangler, Matanovic et al left Findhorn and moved back to San Francisco with the rest of their Illuminati conspirators to set up Lorian and impose the iron will of the One World Ecofeminist Pagan Communist Government upon the quivering masses at the behest of unthinkably alien beings from beyond and UN shock troops

still not really getting into the spirit of the thing, I think
