Wer Guardian Project nicht kennt, die haben eine Handvoll #Android #privacy apps in einem F-Droid Repository. Z.B. auch #Orbot Tor für Android und ehemals #Orfox für Orbot, jetzt Tor Browser.

F-Droid will soon have stricter requirements for apps showing up in the "Latest" tab in the F-Droid app:

If you are an app developer consider adding good descriptions, screenshots and a "Whats's New" section for your app.

If you notice that your favourite app doesn't fulfill all these requirements consider notifying the app's developers or just help them with a merge request adding the missing info to the source repo.

From Zom's build metadata file (https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/blob/master/metadata/im.zom.messenger.txt): the latest version requires proprietary dependencies which isn't allowed in F-Droid. Additionally, the goal is to include the original .apk signed by Zom's developers, but so far we weren't able to reproduce their .apk.

Help on bringing Zom into F-Droid is highly appreciated!

Für alle, die sich wundern: Mein Server ist seit gestern Abend vom Netz. Ein Update hat "Nebenwirkungen" gehabt, die etwas tricky zu lösen sind. Noch kein ETA in Sicht. Mit viel Glück sind mein F-Droid Repo und meine Android App Listen später am Abend wieder verfügbar – ggf. aber auch erst im Laufe des WEs…

The latest version of G-Droid has error reporting when the app crashes. I already fixed 2 errors, that users had sent in. Please continue sending them through!

The error reporting happens explicitly via email, so you can review the data before sending it. So nothing is being send, without the user confirming it twice. The feature can be deactivated in the settings if desired.

The reporting mechanism has mostly been copied from the F-Droid client source code ✋😃
