My advisor just sent me an email saying he tried to avoid pronouns when introducing me to his class yesterday and that he is sorry if he misgendered me.
This man is Literally 80 years old so the idea that old folx can't learn and change is some bullshit.
@VyrCossont Yeah I still remember the first time I heard Maiden was the two of us were in the car driving up to Walmart and he put Rime of the Ancient Mariner on and we were talking about the lyrics and the story it was telling and stuff. I was starting to become a shitbag teenager and he was definitely trying to find a way to connect with me.
The first album I bought was Piece of Mind, which was also the first album of theirs that HE bought, entirely coincidentally.
@VyrCossont Here's the weirdest part: I don't know that I ever listened to this album while playing Oblivion. I was just ALWAYS playing Oblivion and we were ALWAYS listening to this album so now they're linked because I'd basically go from the game to getting in the car for something and it would be on and then when we got home I'd get right back in the game.
My dad got back into Iron Maiden heavy when I was in high school and getting into Maiden myself. High school is also when I got a copy of Oblivion for my PS3. What this means is I have a very hard time listening to their best album, 2006's A Matter of Life and Death, without feeling an OVERWHELMING URGE to play Oblivion.
@popstar Shit you're right, just the way you worded it made me think of you just, like, picking up a prickly pear and munching on that shit spines and all =P
