    Kid holds an eloquent, well-argued and principled defense to his schoolmates explaining why he won't play the games on Roblox that incorporate "AI slop". They don't accept it and when the most annoyed and annoying guy runs out of half-baked and fallacious arguments he switches to insults.

    Kid doesn't let it get to him. He logs off and goes to prepare for bed instead.

    I taught him none of this. Not actively anyway.

      Ich sortiere auch immer meine Fruchtgummis, Lakritze und Co., bevor ich sie esse. Gummibären werden dabei z.B. nach Farbe sortiert.

      Bei mir besteht der Verdacht, dass ich im oder in der Nähe des Spektrums bin. Mir haben das schon viele Leute ins Gesicht gesagt, die selber im Spektrum sind und ich stelle an mir immer wieder entsprechende Verhaltensweisen fest.

      Der Geschmack ist mir beim Sortieren tatsächlich egal, aber es muss sortiert sein, damit ich es gleichmäßig konsumiere.

      The story that revealed this metastory is fascinating in itself:

      Homo Erectus is observed to have disappeared from Africa around 500 ky ago, from China around 400 ky ago, but in Indonesia on Java, they seem to have been around until around 100 ky, perhaps even later. Sapiens didn't arrive on Java until around 50 ky ago, so there was nobody around to push them out.

      I guess to be accurate, if you're studying the bones of erectus rather than sapiens, you're in paleontology rather than archaeology. But archeology archaeology sounds more fun than paleontology archaeology.

    New name acquired!

    I've been "Clays", "Clark", "Wailin", "Villain", last week in Korea I was "Walkin" at one point. I thought that would be the last one for some time and that I've collected all the variants, but then I have a meeting today and one of the department heads calls me "Clay", so it seems there is still more to be drawn from the well of names. 🤣

      If you're curious what the "correct" pronunciation is, say "Claws Valeen" with a Connecticut accent and you're pretty much there.

      I don't mind at all, it's just hilarious to me how many different ways my name can confuse people. 😊

      Just be kind and well-meaning and we'll get along just fine whatever you call me.
