    Wie bereits Mitte April angekündigt wird gnusocial.de zum 31. Mai 2018 abgeschaltet. Daher hier noch einmal der Hinweis, dass ihr euch

    An HOW-TO on how to migrate your account away from !gnusocialde:

    1. Go to https://github.com/benediktg/gnu-social-export (thx @benediktg), clone repo, follow instructions to run commands.
    2. You get a following_accounts.csv file. Go to your new (Mastodon) instance (<instance-domain>/settings/import) and import the follower list. Verify that the followers were imported.
    3. Change your avatar/bio/username at GNUSocial so one sees this account is inactive. Point to your new account there. AFAIk mentioning yourself in a qveet (@username@newinstance) works in a good way, too.

    In den nächsten Tagen wird es einen kurzen Ausfall geben, um den Server neu zu starten und den #meltdown Patch einzuspielen. Das macht der Provider, weshalb ich keine Kontrolle darüber oder Information habe, wann das passiert.

    At some point within the next few days there will be a short downtime for reboot and adding the #meltdown patch. This is done by the provider so I don't have control or information when it will happen.

    DE: Aus Gründen der Datensparsamkeit und Privatsphäre räume ich gerade mal wieder alte/tote Accounts auf. Bisher sind es in etwa 100 gelöschte Accounts. Typische Anzeichen sind:
    - vor 2017 registriert
    - nichts gepostet
    - folgt nur wenigen Accounts
    - kein Profilbild

    EN: For data reduction and privacy reasons I'm currently cleaning up old/dead accounts again. So far there are about 100 deleted accounts. Typical signs are:
    - registered before 2017
    - nothing posted
    - follows only a few accounts
    - no profile picture

    Gibt es eigentlich die Intention cw auch fuer #gnusocial einzufuehren?

    Vermisse die Funktion, und glaube es traegt auch fuer einen bewusster bedachten Umgang miteinander bei.

    Einige Menschen nutzen mastodon genau wegen dieser Funktion, und wuerden es vermutlich nicht, wenn diese Funktion fehlen wuerde.

    Auch fuer laengere Texte kann es aehnlich wie eine Ueberschrift genutzt werden und verbessert dadruch sich einen schnellen Ueberblick ueber die Beitraege im eigenen stream zu verschaffen.

    Kurze Duchsage: das An- und Abpinnen von Posts scheint ziemlich buggy zu sein. Problem dabei ist, dass der Entwickler der Funktion weg ist. Daher hab ich die Funktion vorerst deaktiviert. !gnusocialde

    Der Würgaround für die Mastodon-Verbindung war scheinbar kaputt. Jetzt geht's wieder, dafür fluten jetzt alle alten Posts seit ~26.09. rein. Sorry, sollte bald wieder normal laufen. !gnusocialde

    As Debian is switching MySQL to MariaDB I'm thinking of migrating !gnusocialde and to take that as an opportunity to move to a bigger machine.

    Furthermore I'm still thinking about switching switching to !postactiv because of STOMP/RabbitMQ support.

    Nothing decided yet, just to let you all know.
