The full text of the Church House Declaration:
"Shutting down Parliament would be an undemocratic outrage at such a crucial moment for our country, and a historic constitutional crisis.
Any attempt to prevent Parliament sitting, to force through a no deal Brexit, will be met by strong and widespread democratic resistance.
We pledge to work together across parties and across our nations to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the people's voice is able to be heard."
The Church House Declaration
Is that it?
Badly written, and I have no idea what it means.
Front page headline in today's The Observer:
"Johnson seeks legal advice on five-week parliament closure"
In some ways I hope BoJo does prorogue parliament. It would be completely un-democratic, but I'm not sure it would make much difference. We are heading for a no-deal Brexit anyway, and proroguing parliament would just demonstrate the real nature of the government.
The Sunday Times are reporting that in the event of a no-deal Brexit, English police may be deployed to the Northern Ireland border areas.
Well, there's a recipe for disaster, right there.

@fitheach
The surest way for #BorisJohnson to take over from Prime Minister May was to sabotage her Brexit deal as insufficient. Now, whether he resurrects her deal as is, extracts further concessions from the EU, or crashes out, he can just blame Mrs. May.
I have general respect for *The Economist*, but it's hard to imagine them saying anything good about one of the chief culprits behind #Brexit, even if he were Lord Palmerston reborn.
@fitheach
I speculated a month ago that perhaps he deliberately lost against Theresa May, so that she would take any blame for a failed #Brexit.
It's possible, though overall #BorisJohnson seems like a gifted improvisor rather than a strategist.
@fitheach Well, it seems that he is much more intelligent than he appears, has unusual ability as a writer and debater, and he has some political cunning, having made it to the top of the greasy pole. His greatest talent seems to be personal charm.
OTOH, his personal life has been rather shambolic, so that's a mark against his discipline & strategic sense.
Overall, #BorisJohnson's talents seem more suited to achieving power than using it wisely. A no deal #Brexit is very likely.
Okay, so it looks like Boris Johnson is going to be PM. Is there any law of any kind which could allow north irland to do a referendum, leave the UK and join the south irland and the UE?

Well, this might give #Brexit a bit of a push forward if the EU27 make a shambles of things all on their own.

After McDonald decided to temporary stop selling milkshakes to prevent throwing these at politicians (Tommy Robinson), Burger King reacts. They must have known that Nigel Farage was coming.
