What does this mean? Well, it would be nice to take in a few more maintainers to ensure the site code gets some desperately needed improvements, for example. There are several things that have been requested by community members which I (Jason Robinson) haven't had time to implement due to work ongoing with #Socialhome.
My personal wish would be to make The-Federation.info even more into a nice landing page for all #TheFederation / #Fediverse projects. This would mean not being constrained to just following servers running the #Diaspora protcol, but also including servers from #ActivityPub and #OStatus side, for example. The information is available out there, if not in exactly the same format, at least to some level.
If you are a #federated social web enthusiast, possibly even a maintainer of one of these projects and interested in improving the site, please get in touch, for example by replying here or chatting on FreeNode #thefederation channel, or directly to me. Please don't use private messages since those are not supported by this account yet.
@xikufrancesc Gracias tio.
Too few arguments to function Foreignlink::setflags(), 4 passed in [...]/local/plugins/TwitterBridge/actions/twitterauthorization.php on line 240 and exactly 5 expected
Is there a patch/fix? Using postActiv here and didn't see/couldn't find anythin on the repository.
@musicman Something else occurred to me. His #pump.io and #gnusocial servers are probably on the same physical box or at least in the same room, so default timeout settings for #NS may be too short for those with servers in widely scattered places.
!gnusocial Currently I'm loosing federation between #Mastodon and my instance of #GNUsocial. Is there anything I've missed to fix this on my site? Some tipps appreciated.
I amb noticing that Twidere seems to manage better conversations in Mastodon than Andstatus (clicking a message in a thread in a Mastodon account, Twidere shows the thread whereas Andstatus doesn't). On the contrary, Andstatus seems to perform better with !gnusocial accounts. So both clients are far from perfect, each with its pros and cons. Difficulties (and diverging paths) in federation between mastodon and gnusocial servers does not help either. Well, gnusocial has no path, right now 😅
@fla @paulfree14 Addendum: I was there at #Diaspora between 2012 / 2013 and 2016. Most time with the same topics as here also, with the difference that I host now #GNUsocial on my own. Most time topics and discussions about politics, society and an antithesis. But with this combination it's already a pity to discover that there are enough borders and when questioning some "major lovely toys" for example - talking about #Google or #YouTube - you'll get the corresponding feedback and people show up that they really don't care about protection. It's all about a masquerade and people invest more time posting some "cat-pictures" or proprietary links instead being part of the community. So far to my time at #Diaspora and last but not least when trying to standup against open said racism or antisemitism there are enough participants of the so-called community having problems doing that.
I have no doubt that there is some kind of community, but not for everyone and that's the point. Would I recommend #Diaspora to others? No, because of the given reasons above when searching for deep talks and discussions for a change. Yes, when searching for just another place playing with the own digital self-image.
