I'd like to see #Pleroma or #Mastodon provide Filtered Lists, such that I can see posts from a list of people that include (or exclude) a particular term(s) (likely a particular hashtag). This would address this problem:
Without this, persons with varied interests can seem overly noisy (low signal-to-noise ratio) for potential followers that are interested in only one of their interests (or are actively disinterested in one of them --- HAH).
While teaching myself #scheme I have been toying with a cgi program. Its for doing #mastodon (and other #fediverse platform) share buttons. It handles the whole prompt for instance -> redirect to share URL in a way which avoids javascript.
Mainly because I want a javascriptless blag.
Any one else interested in such a thing? Trying to figure out how much polish I may or not want on the final version.
Starting to think scheme based CGI might make any target audience narrow.
Remarkable that #Keybase, launched before #Mastodon, has 10 times less users. Even taking into account numerous Fedibots. Despite the fact that Keybase was built around social network aspect, idea gained by its creators from OKCupid startup.
Non-technical friends won't catch up on PGP no matter how many stickers you add.
On the other hand, I've used Fediverse as email and messenger for a year now. It has potential of becoming both decentralized *and* private. And suitable for non-tech folks.
(english) I try to create an overview of the features of the different federated platforms and which communication protocols they are capable of. Or add another platform (with sources) that can "speak" the communication protocol that is mentioned on the sheet. Once it's finished it will be available for everybody. github.com/hoergen/besser-der-…

Not sure if most Mastodon :mastodon: website users know this but you can create custom columns in Mastodon with just a selection of the people you follow. The feature is called Lists. To access click on the three horizontal bars with tooltip text 'Getting Started'. Then click on Lists and add just the people you want. You can create multiple lists if needed. I know some people read the manual but others don't. You can also see all your favourited items in one place #Lists#Mastodon#GettingStarted#Group
Hey, please help keeping @Gargron and all the other #mastodon instances being able to host without implementing #uploadfilter by calling your member of the European parliament and convincing them stand against #Article13 in the upcoming vote for the #copyright reform.
