The few actual reviews that I see of the #Pi-Top edugame software (+ the bug-reports in their issue-tracker) seem to indicate `it doesn't actually work all that well, the team isn't doing a great job developing/maintaining it, and it's not #open-source so nobody else can fix the bugs when their kids run into them'. "curriculum that can't be adapted or fixed" has always seemed like !education #fail....
Got a notebook with open-source drivers for #NVidia working and now #Hyperbola is the next to be installed. Thanks to my dad for the on-going support and the very cool idea having the bios-chip fixed with cables so the mainboard mustn't be pulled out everytime. And now we could flash this with no further problems! #Open-Source #Free-and-Libre

Tobias DausendJust to make it clear: Using a company as breakthrough for a personal career change what exactly? Perhaps you notice a change within your personal situation when visiting a conference for your skills using a company. But in general you're doing the same as everyone else and when you talk about "changing paradigm" you should notice the upcoming lie within.
Exactly that's the point: You're using #capitalism and benefits from that. But well some people think this is a good idea, even this is proclaimed on #Diaspora. That's the reason I can't believe within the goals of this "project". Creating an #open-source #Facebook and claiming the other way around? Nice try, but it's just the benefit for some chosen people. #Thoughts #Wrong-way
@charlescodes Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps getting the point more clear: I'm not amused about #systemd because of the immense involvement from only one party / group. In this case it is #Red-Hat! And besides there are more companies doing such a thing. Of course not the way #Red-Hat does. But it's some kind of interesting having also #Microsoft in this with the phrase "We LOVE #Open-Source!".
The answer would be: No you don't. I mean come on: A company having most products just to 100% closed is paraphrasing about "loving" open-source software and projects? Some with #Google, #Facebook and so on. In fact: #Corporate-Open-Source is a description for those ways and most time it's really against the whole idealistic way.
It's not just about #OpenSource, but also the realities of #programming, concerns managers might have, and the issue of reaching people with different points of view
There are a lot of myths dispelled, great communication strategies, and it's presented in a very approachable way
Even if you're not technical, there's a lot of very useful info here on building communities
